Plants for your bathroom

Why bathroom plants are gaining importance
Why bathroom plants are gaining importance
We want a clean bathroom. Plants do add the freshness to the ambiance. If you have ever watered plants on regular basis, you do realize the reaction of plants over a period of days.

We want our bathroom to look neat and tidy. Plants add the tropical feeling to your bathroom. Even though you may have a low light or frosted window bathroom, they plants are strong to survive in low light.

We would want to keep the smell away. Plants take in nitrogen from the soil, carbon dioxide through the air and give out fresh Oxygen. Elementary Science!

First thing, you want to do is head towards the nearest nursery and buy a potted plant and place them next to the window. To know which ones’s to buy, read this – Nurserylive.com

Mapping One Lakh toilets in India

Need a Swachhalyay

Aim
We endeavour to map One Lakh toilets in India by October 2, 2016.

Current status – PeeProvider.com has mapped 10000 toilets in 22 cities as on August 15, 2016.

Background
We have been hearing about the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan / Clean India Campaign. launched on October 2, 2014.

The government has taken initiatives. Corporates have added budgets to the CSR. Municipal Corporations, City Councils, Gram Panchayats have implemented policies. People across departments, companies, religions have built toilets.

We need to take matters in our own hands. We need to map them.

How do we go about doing this?
Click on the (+) plus sign on the right hand side of the app and add a toilet near you.

Request
We urge each one of you too add the toilets which are in your vicinity. This help visitors in your locality not to pee own your walls.

Problem of finding toilets. Review of Q2P.

Q2P

Finding toilets such a problem, specially when you need it badly. Paromita Vohra has  made this documentary Q2P which can be viewed on the Sulabh YouTube Channel – https://youtu.be/hsJh_BamKgo

My review
Q2P is an insightful documentary on toilets. It has touched upon a lot of sanitation aspects for the cities. A mention in the rural segment, specially villages, where they feel open defecation is a fertiliser for their fields is missing. Plus, building toilets is not a solution, changing attitude towards toilets, talking openly about toilets. The reaction of Rukshana Khan, keeps ringing in my mind and the other end, there is Bilqis, which have different challenges. We really need to find a way to make the public toilets more welcoming for women. We are living in India, which is a very complicated society and at the same time, we all know the importance of the toilets. We will need to make it more prominent in our urban planning. There are just so many things that one need to do and customise these things to individual needs of the community that is living in the vicinity. One thing which is common is to build the toilet with proper discharge, I would have been horrified or surprised, if Raju Bhai was not giving proper sewage channel.

The only way we can make the impact by asking uncomfortable questions, which is this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pR5WNuo23Uk. It given an insight to the people and sanitation and their responses to lady asking to go to the toilet. The only solution left is to make people, government heads embarrass and ashamed to take action.
At Avignyata Inc. we are trying to make an impact with a small innovation to map toilets across India through PeeProvider.com. The Android and Apple is an aim to provide the cleanest loo, nearest to you.
